Show Me Your Feeds

Yesterday I spent sometime poking around dudecraft because of a link Rev Dave posted on Facebook, and I’ve found all manner of awesome there.

I got me wondering what other shadowy corners of the Interblogwebs the Squadprobes are regularly monitoring via their RSS feeds (or whatever your preferred method happens to be). Maybe we can hip each other to some fresh awesomeness. Here are some of mine…

Always Tender

I went to Lincoln Square’s Ribfest with 5koot yesterday. There were some okay ribs there, but sadly, none from this place:

Because if they had been there, I could have found out if it’s possible to have that song in my head even more than it already is. Instead, we’ll never know the answer. Isn’t that right, John C. Reilly?

Fontstaches

Over here, via here.

But can the game possibly live up to the blandness of the man for whom it is named?

And now, from the Why on Earth Does this Exist files, some dude’s homemade Bill Paxton pinball machine. That sound you hear is the screeching of urob’s tires as he drives to this guy’s house. The next sound you hear will be the world’s biggest high five.

Chiditarod 2010- “Today will be a day long remembered”

After a few days of reflection and recovery, I think I’m able to do a proper Chiditarod recap. It felt like we were competing in a million different categories this year, so there’s a lot to discuss.

Our cart- Where to begin? In my humble opinion, it’s the best cart that has ever been in Chiditarod, and I’m not sure it will ever be surpassed. I don’t think we could have done an AT-AT any better than we did, and I don’t think we could have had a more awesome theme than Star Wars, so there you go. Comments on race day ranged from “That’s the best cart this year” to “That’s the GREATEST THING I’ve ever seen.” I still sort of can’t believe we pulled it off. Big ups to Ryan for the extra time he spent on it. The snowspeeder was also a nice touch. Oh, and is your mind not blown yet? It dispensed beer.

Profiles in Awesome: Action-Squad and Chiditarod

Since its humble beginnings, Action-Squad has developed into a parent organization for awesome endeavors. Action-Squad is: a small group of idiots from Michigan. It’s a web site designed to amuse those idiots and their friends. A professional design company. And an urban iditarod team.

On Saturday, March 6th, Action-Squad adds a historic (I know most people say “an” historic, but that’s never made sense to me. It’s not “an history book..”) fifth chapter to their growing legend in Chicago’s urban iditarod shopping cart race/food drive/costume party/beauty pageant, or Chiditarod for short. Since we may have some new visitors to the site after the race (Dave has designed “In Squad We Trust” buttons with the URL for distribution, contact him for yours today!) we thought it would be a good idea to give a little backstory on how Action-Squad went from a plucky group of Blinkies, Pinkies, and Clydes, to time-traveling prophets, hell bent on glory and PBR.

A (sort of) brief history, with links to the original A-S recaps:
